  • Muscle contraction and relaxation function
  • Heart beating regularly

  • Neurotransmission
  • Enzyme function

Mode of Action

Strong, healthy bones are essential to an active lifestyle, and if our bones don't receive the right nutrients, and in the right amounts needed, over time, brittle bones may develop.

Risk factors for brittle bones include:

  • Women (especially of small stature)
  • Family history of osteoporosis
  • Post menopausal age
  • Advanced age
  • Low Calcium or Vitamin D intakes
  • Cigarette smoking
  • Excessive intake of alcohol or coffee

Super Calcium Complete helps to maintain healthy joints and minimise Calcium loss. It also helps maintain Calcium and Magnesium levels to maintain bone strength and function.

Indications

  • Helps maintain strong, healthy bones
  • Helps maintain Calcium, Magnesium and Vitamin D intakes for healthy bones and joints
  • Supports bone strength and function

    Special Benefits

  • Super Calcium Complete is a high strength, scientifically developed bone support formula. Each tablet provides a total of 270mg of elemental Calcium from two highly bioavailable sources including Calcium citrate, which has been shown to have 20-66% greater absorption than Calcium carbonate, and Hydroxyapatite, the actual bone matrix of bone, making it a superior Calcium formula.

The formula also includes important nutritional cofactors needed to maintain bone health and Calcium absorption. This includes Vitamin D3, to provide the specific carrier needed to transport Calcium across the lumen of the gut, plus Magnesium, needed to assist the utilisation of Calcium in the bone remodelling process.

In addition, Vitamin K, Zinc, Manganese, Boron and Horsetail herb (a source of Silica) provide nutritional benefits in maintaining bone mineralisation, strength and density.

Getting enough Calcium, whether through your diet or supplements, is essential to maintaining bone strength. However, many men and women do not consume enough Calcium in their diets.

The recommended daily intake (RDI) of Calcium for women aged 19-50 years is 1000mg and 1500mg for postmenopausal women aged 50 years and over.

The key steps to better bone health include:

A healthy balanced diet rich in Calcium and Vitamin D

    Weight-bearing exercise

A healthy lifestyle with no smoking or excessive alcohol intake

Watch the video for vitamin D supplementation during winter

Minerals are chemical elements found in the body either in their elemental form or complexed with organic compounds. Like vitamins, they are essential for normal cell functioning. The two most prevalent minerals, calcium and phosphorus, are major components of bone while sodium and potassium are found in all tissue fluids, both within and around cells. Magnesium, chloride, sulfur, and zinc are other minerals that play a key role in cell function. The trace elements iron, manganese, copper, and iodine are found in much smaller quantities, but play essential roles as catalysts in basic cellular chemical processes.

    General recommendations for nutritional supplementation:
To avoid stomach upsets and to promote better absorption supplements should always be taken earlier, or in the middle of a meal.

It is also advisable not to lie down immediately after taking any pills. This is to ensure that the pills have made their way into the stomach and are not left sitting in the oesophagus where they could cause discomfort and irritation.

When taking several doses of a nutrient, it is better to split it up into smaller amounts and to spread it through the day with food.
